Michal Hanson - HDKP's new Program & Event Coordinator

Michal Hanson is our new Program & Event Coordinator for Historic Downtown Kennewick Partnership. Michal is a Kennewick native who was born and raised here. While attending Columbia Basin Community College, Michal accepted a college internship with Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida and spent nine months working as a Tour Guide for The Great Movie Ride at the Disney-MGM studios. While Michal was living in Florida, Hurricane Katrina hit the south. After her internship ended with Walt Disney World she packed up her car and her Golden Retriever, Davinci, and moved to New Orleans. Michal quickly fell in love with the architecture, people, and the spirit of the city. Michal also spent a year living on Kaneohe Bay Marine Corp Base in Hawaii with her family before finally coming back to her roots in Kennewick in 2012. Michal has a passion for the beauty and magic the downtown offers and is excited to get to be working in the revitalizing of Historic Downtown Kennewick. Michal is the lucky mama of two spunky daughters- Paisley Sage, age 10, and Poppy Vera, age 7. Michal and her boyfriend, Shane, are busy paw parents to two rescue dogs. A giant German Shepard named Sgt Pepper Teriyaki Unicorn and a German Shepard/Pit/Mutt mix named Jalapeno Sushi Mermaid. Program and Event Coordinating isn’t new to Michal, but is a career change after having been a Licensed Massage Therapist for the past 5 years including owning her own business.
