About the HDKP
The Historic Downtown Kennewick Partnership (HDKP) is a volunteer-driven 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation aspiring to reflect our diverse community, provide an inclusive and vibrant downtown destination, encourage economic and creative opportunities, and preserve our rich history to support a dynamic future.
Purpose of Our Downtown Organization
The Downtown Kennewick area has experienced a transistion over the past decade into a healthy business district. This revitalization has been guided, in large part, by the Historic Downtown Kennewick Partnership. Tha following are key elements in the revitalization efforts:
Developing partnerships with other community-minded organizations in order to maintain and expand the downtown
Creating promotional events designed to bring thousands of people downtown
Making recruiting and retention efforts that focus on inviting complimentary businesses that fill the needs of our target customers
Putting your tax dollars to work through the Main Street Tax Credit Program.
Who We Serve
Long-time residents who remember how their hometown used to be
New residents who are looking for a sense of community and who want to establish roots
Merchants located in and around the Main Street area who want to bring more customers into their shops.

Main Street Program
The Main Street program is about recapturing old values and creating a new sense of unity in a quickly changing society. The Main Street program maintains the asset of a community in order to pass on the community heritage to future residents. Main Street teaches the community how to take care of the future today.
As a Main Street America™ Accredited program, Historic Downtown Kennewick Partnership is a recognized leading program among the national network of more than 1,200 neighborhoods and communities who share both a commitment to creating high-quality places and to building stronger communities through preservation-based economic development. All Main Street America™ Accredited programs meet a set of National Accreditation Standards of Performance as outlined by the National Main Street Center.
