HDKP Welcomes Jess Stangeland as Executive Director
The Historic Downtown Kennewick Partnership (HDKP) is proud to welcome Jess Stangeland as the organization’s Executive Director.
“We had a great slate of candidates to review for the position, but one kept standing out from the others," said Jay Freeman, Board President for HDKP. "We are very excited to have Jess come work for us. Her skill set will be a good addition to the operational improvements we are making internally."
Ms. Stangeland is a Tri-Cities native who has been committed to building the community of the area. With a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Seattle University, she has taken her career through real estate, non-profit administration, retail management, and community development, with her most recent position as Manager at Fuse SPC. Additionally, she has served as a Board Director for Leadership Tri-Cities and Tri-City Regional Chamber of Commerce; and, as a strong supporter of the creative arts and outdoor recreation, she has been involved in numerous community organizations, such as TriConf, Tri-Art for Giving, DrewBoy Creative, and Fireside Chats. She was also Executive Producer for TEDxRichland and TC Tech Summit, events that sought to bring out new ideas from the Tri-Cities community.
Looking at HDKP's future, Ms. Stangeland sees that “Downtown Kennewick is at a tipping point right now and it is imperative that HDKP not only be a healthy, thriving organization, but that we have a seat at the table. I plan to increase our revenue through sponsors and membership; build strong relationships with the Port, City, Regional Chamber, and public and private entities surrounding the downtown; and rally this community to form more grassroots efforts to revitalize downtown.”
With the buzz from efforts of past years, and the undoubtedly big changes on the horizon with Ms. Stangeland's hire, "the future is looking very bright for downtown Kennewick," says Mr. Freeman.
